素材となる軟鉄や鋼を真っ赤に熱し、
金槌などで叩き延ばして鍛える
“鍛造（たんぞう）”という技法が用いられています。

叩くことで金属内部の組織を密にして
強度と粘り強さを高め、極上の切れ味と耐久性、
見事な美しさを生み出すものです。
